Seven years ago I read an article in New York magazine that fascinated me. It was about a man who was a mentalist and had the ability to stop your watch, twist wineglasses and bend keys that YOU were holding in your hands. He interacts with the audience by incorporating their thoughts and personal effects into the show.
What really got my attention was that a group of scientists and professors tried to debunk him and failed. I kept the article and Al and I tracked him down. He has performed on TV (Ellen DeGeneres, the Today show, etc.) and was available on 10-10-10. I wanted this party to be different and I hope that I succeed by inviting Gerard to entertain us.

Anyone who knows me realizes that I LOVE books. For years I have always thought that, in lieu of traditional birthday gifts, I would want any guests at my 10-10-10 party to bring a book. I believe that a person’s favorite book can tell you a lot about that person, whether it’s a favorite childhood book or a book that inspired you. I am asking EACH PERSON to bring me a copy of their favorite book with a personal inscription inside telling me WHY this is their favorite book. My goal is to form a 10-10-10 library that reminds of each of you. Please do not be afraid that I might already own your book or have read it. I probably do!!! The point is for me to get an inside view of your thoughts through one of my greatest joys... reading!
